Enough is enough! Yesterday, we got 3.88″ of rain in like 6 hours. I don’t know where they were doing the measuring, but our once empty 5 gallon bucket on our deck had 6.25″! There is a creek way down back of our property. It overflowed accordingly as it often does. The problem doesn’t do much to our place, just makes for an extremely soggy yard. It does flood out other people in the area and at times like this, I’m glad we don’t have a basement. The water was so high at the intersection South of us, the road had to be closed. That’s where the creek flows under the road. Wait, correction. The creek was flowing over the road! Cars stallled trying to drive through. They had to be pushed out. The water receded quickly once the rain stopped. All that was left today on the street, were hoses. Basements being pumped out, carpet strewn out on the sidewalk, stuff like that. It was beautiful, hot and sunny today. Tomorrow, they’re calling for another 4″ of rain. Oh boy. Happy Father’s Day!
